I've owned a 16-35 II and if you can swing the price difference its well worth it for the 14 II. There are quite a few in myZenfolio (external link) (signature). Its one of my favorite lens's. You could also rent one for a week to be sure. I believe Barry rents them at Cameralensrentals.com

Not really good or pretty pictures, but couple of examples with harsh lighting. Only the 2nd last has some PP, rest are basically straight from the camera.

Would this lens be good for taking real estate indoor shots? I also like the wide angle for the outdoors, but would the 2.8 aperture suffice for indoor lighting without using flash?

Indoor real estate shots can be taken on a tripod, so you should really have the camera on a tripod, lens stopped down and let the shutter do its thing.
