Very nice clear shots Olli,

They do look good this way, but I must wonder why you chose to do them B&W?

Very crisp shots but I would like to see the color versions. Artistically the black & whites are really cool.

The second one looks more like a swan than a goose.

Photographers do it in 1/1,000th of a second...but the memory lasts forever! ;)

I like graphical look of these birds and the whole setup with rings in the water, and also liked to try something 'different'. Maybe there is a small wanna-be-artist inside me. ;)

Well said - that's something I noticed as well.

Thank you very much. I mixed this with a similar looking juvenile spur-winged goose (which has a natural habitat in SA), but you are absolutely right, this must be a black swan (Cygnus atratus), a bird you are not expected to see in Africa; this one having a good life in a private pond in Kakamas.

I like what you did here Olli. The B&W's give them a whole different feel.

I often convert some of my bird pictures to B&W for our local Island newspaper (they don't print in color) and like how they come out - an entirely different look from the color versions.

Beautiful, weren't they!

You didn't see the ducks on the back of Groot Constantia?
