Oh I did see that! (sorry I didn't MMQ earlier).
You are so welcome. :D I'm glad you are enjoying it. Better late than never, eh?
Lonnie, did you get yours yet? We resent it with USPS.

NP on the mmq....I just didn't want you to think I was ungrateful! Still flattered, actually.

From one of those sucky 100-400 lenses:

WOW.

And my favorite GBH shot of all time:

QUOTED IMAGE

Ok he/she/it made me laugh. IDK if it was supposed to or not, but...love the shots.

Hey, I'm on a roll, what can I say?! :p

Does this one have a story? Boat wreck, or just heading out in crazy waves? I don't live near a large body of water....I'm intrigued.

Thanks.

This is what they call "Heavy Surf Advisory" on the Pacific Coast (Newport, Oregon). Beautiful day, but crazy surf. Puddle can give you the details on why it happens.

They were drilling that day. There were two of the boats there. I got several dozen similar shots. Right place - right time. I was over there looking for a snowy owl that had been reported on the South Jetty (I lived there from 1987-2003)

Where you and I think of the beach and warm sand, seashells, fun in the water comes to mind, well I think bikinis, but the point is when they think of the beach they think, cold, brutal, fatal, rescue. I think that is a normal day fishing in that shot.

Not exactly normal, but not that uncommon either.

They surf in wetsuits here. No kidding. The ocean is like ice here.
