At some point I surpassed 5 grand. Where's my cake?

You'll have to get up to around 60 or 80 per day to make a noticable dent.

chances of that happening are slim

<Interrupts for a Mommy Moment>

Cory sent me a text, letting me know that they are on their way. I replied with the usual, 'be safe, have fun, and if you can't tell the difference call me'.
His reply:
'I will mom and I can't thank anybody but you and dad, I love life! wouldn't be here without you :D you guys are the best'

Yeah my vision blurred a bit :o

*sniff, sniff

Permie, farm the book out to Cat.

It was, and the weather was nice (upper 70's).

And with this, I am out for the night. Have a good Tuesday everyone.

Good night Heather

*grumbles about it being 26 degrees here*

misspix wrote in post #7065078 (external link)
G'night Heather!

I think we reached 42 ish here

According to my home thermometer it was 85.7 degrees here yesterday and it's now 79.5. I've got all the doors and windows open in an attempt to air out the house...

wow, I'm loving this series. The lighting on this one is beautiful.

that's a great shot of the Murkster!

With the exception of the dr appt, that sounds like a fantastic day.

Agreed about the guitar series and the picture of Murky. I think it's funny that Lisa and Dan and Heather and I have cats that look identical with almost the same name...

Her appointment was a routine feminine checkup, but they took a look at her finger and gave her a tetanus shot just to be on the safe side. The swelling is almost gone now.

Here are the kitchen remodel pics.

This is on the day we started tearing into everything.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com …1665043972_9f78b69511.jpg (external link)

We chopped a small hole into the wall because we wanted to see what it would look like if we connected the dining room and kitchen. I started with a small hole in case it didn't work so patching would be easy.
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1137/945614289_a8178bb755.jpg (external link)

All the insulation had to come out above the kitchen as the ceiling drywall was getting replaced as well. Thats me in my make shift haz-mat suit. It was onlt about 120 degrees up there that day.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com …1653605695_a4a8a8d406.jpg (external link)

Walls are almost all gone.
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1051/946228483_e5111ddccf.jpg (external link)

Drywall weighed a ton so I built a makeshift drywall jack.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com …1653607979_fe41a65c9b.jpg (external link)

All drywall work done
http://farm3.static.flickr.com …1737136689_9d97e0e2eb.jpg (external link)

Paint and new floor done.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com …1769598286_f40dfdabb5.jpg (external link)

And the final product taken form the same location as the first pic.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com …94586828_014af2c394_o.jpg (external link)

I'd like to gut this place down to the studs and do a total rebuild on it. It's so old the first thing to be replaced would be the wiring and the plumbing and it would also be leveled. There isn't a square corner, plumb wall or level floor in the place. I can place a soda can on the floor in front of the refrigerator and it will roll to the other end of the kitchen unassisted. Every time the weather changes, the house changes shape and different doors will stick depending on the season. One of the major problems with doing anything major here is that it isn't ours...

well I was talking HD over regular tv, rather than TV is worth it. Television is 90% rubbish, although some documentaries are interesting. We have the basic tv, plus the sports package so I can watch the footy :)

Isn't it? I still havent' figured out this trend toward trashy "reality" programming. I spend most of my time on either the History Channel or the Military Channel...

Permagrin wrote in post #7067255 (external link)
Okay...I'm a bulk shopper. I buy everything I can en-mass because I hate to go to the store. So I bought a big bag and a small bag of the little rawhide chews...and they are too little for Kona. He eats them too fast...bad for his digestion. So now I've got a bunch of chews for little dogs apparently and none for midsized. I'm goooood

Yeah, we have several boxes of some rawhide chew strips and Buddy gobbles them down so fast he gags on them. We're not buying them again. We also have a larger rolled rawhide that he eats much slower because he has to take the time to tear them apart.

Permagrin wrote in post #7067417 (external link)
GAH! GAH! I just found Kona on the dining table!! GAH!

Whoops! ;) Thank goodness Buddy prefers the couch...

Permie's raised the bar. You used to get a double-fudge 6-layer cake with whipped cream icing, but now it's just a stale Twinkie. Ya still want it?

99.9999999999999% of reality tv shows are absolutely piss poor, tactless, rubbish, and are there just for the money...hence The Office came about...but at least they stopped that (in the UK) whilst it was still funny...yes, I like the documentaries.

Thats impossible. Twinkies never get stale. 2000 years from now when our descendants uncover a long lost city, they wont find clay jars of beer like we are, they will find boxes of Twinkies, and they'll still be able to eat them. :)

A half eaten stale twinkie, that may or may not have been left in a Grand Central station bathroom.

Bought it... We got the version narrated by David Attenborough, rather than Sigourney Weaver.

Absolutely. Not sure why people would buy a nature programme that has been narrated by a movie star, rather than a world renowned nature expert who is held in high esteems and knows what he is talking about....I am glad I got Sir David Attenborough version. I grew up watching all his programmes, and had no qualms getting this one.
