Last night at Game Night my friends turned it in to a "Baby Shower". Complete with "It's a Girl" banner. But I did get a bunch of cool gifts and chewy things for Maggie! She's gonna be so spoiled!

What's weird is I look back on Turner and my vet didn't say anything about this (at the coast). He was out in the world at quite a young age.

I have always taken my pups everywhere, I never really thought about it. The one pup that I nursed through parvo came to me that way.

I know, we'd never heard of it before either. Both vets (the breeders and ours) said that there's so much parvo in the ground these days that until they have enough of the shots in their system, they are high risk and they tell people not to take them out. Stress it highly in fact. Neither of us want to risk him.

At least 3 if not 4 weeks. I'll ask Friday again, how much longer.

I tried fetching. He's not interested and I'm not interested in chasing him down to get the ball each time.

Kona needs companionship. It might be a good idea to get another dog. That's why we have two dogs. We started with Scooter, and 3 months later bought Pokie. They bonded with us and with each other. When we have to be away from the house and they can't come with us, they still have companionship.

We didn't either (we didn't think about it...we hadn't a clue). The last time Dan really had a dog he was in high school. (other than a couple of brief interludes with non-puppies)

The garage still works to tone him down. He hates not being with us so it's a punishment to him. He's sitting here now much more calm.

maybe someday Mike. Maybe. I'm here so much that he really can't be lacking too much companionship. But our breeder told us to wait til he was fully trained before even thinking about getting another dog. Otherwise they'd bond to one another and not us and then be impossible to train. As it is, we have had (lately) so many hair pulling (our own) days that the thought of getting another animal throws us both into hysterics.

I would suggest to wait until the first dog is mostly trained before bring in the second. The first dog will help to teach and train the second dog and it makes your life much easier. But sometimes the second dog just comes along when you least expect it.

sigh. He's making me nuts today. He managed to squeeze through the little spot in the fence that leads to our (not fenced) side yard. Then he came in and jumped on all the furniture (he's not allowed on the sofas)...we have dog beds for him. Sigh. Now he's in the garage. It's not yet 10am and I'm tired of the challenging already today.

yeah, that's what we're doing...you should see the list of shots...seriously...he gets another set Friday, one the following Friday (they vaccinate for kennel cough now, I don't remember that from ages ago) another set the following Friday and another set the following...I think that's when we're free.

If you let Kona use that bowflex, he may turn out real buff like that one pit bull you linked to...that's not a good look for him

Part of me wants to start taking him out after Friday (it will be his third set of vaccinations for parvo) but what if he gets sick. That would be awful.

on the other hand, I know I won't. Because he won't have the other two key vaccinations at all. Not the kennel cough or the one I was telling Bobert about. He doesn't get those til next Friday and a week from then. SIgh.

Maybe he can come visit Maggie anyway if it's just our house or hers.
