I would err on the side of caution Lisa. The day that Kona gets the okay to go out into the world will be here soon enough.

I know. You're right. I'm just chafing. I want him to be safe and with us for a long time. It's just hard.

this is a very interesting article

Vaccinations and a controlled environment are essential to a puppy's surviving past puppyhood. Armed with only a diminutive immune defense, one good microbial assault can wipe her out faster than a sand castle at high tide. This literally means that some puppies can go from dancing playfully to dead within 24-48 hours.

Let me know if you need someone to give you info on the area. I will PM you her email and phone number. Cheri loves to talk about Montana, and works at Yellowstone during the summer.

Thanks, Heather. Hubby knows quite a bit about the area we are hoping to move to. :)

I also had a student stop me in the hallway this morning and told me that they were looking at my website when they were talking about prom photographers and my snowflakes were amazing. :D Yay me. I hope they pick me for prom.

I hope they do too!!!

He is slowly spending more time in his own world than in ours, it isn't much fun to experience. I feel bad for my mom as she won't have anyone in to help her and he is becoming a handful. His general health is good, however so we are thankful for that.

{{{Crissa}}} so sorry to hear that, although it's very good that his general health is good.

You are on the bus when you suddenly realize ... you need to fart. The music is really loud, so you time your farts with the beat. After a couple of songs, you start to feel better as you approach your stop. As you are leaving the bus, people are really staring you down, and that's when you realize, you have been listening to your ipod.

HAHA!!

yeah, that's what we're doing...you should see the list of shots...seriously...he gets another set Friday, one the following Friday (they vaccinate for kennel cough now, I don't remember that from ages ago) another set the following Friday and another set the following...I think that's when we're free.

good grief that's alot of shots! Cricket only had 2 sets of shots when I first got her and then some boosters a year later.

Mornin All! :D

on the other hand, I know I won't. Because he won't have the other two key vaccinations at all. Not the kennel cough or the one I was telling Bobert about. He doesn't get those til next Friday and a week from then. SIgh.

you are right, it is better safe than sorry. It is not too much longer, hang in there :D

Hi Deb! I will blame Andy, too, for rushing you ;) Sorry to hear about his brothers FIL.

Wow, that's kinda scary....24-48 hours is not long at all.

TIFF - You are correct IL gets MLK off, but; not deer season.;)

CRISSA - {{{{HUGS}}}}

PERMIE - Once Kona is given the all clear, look into some puppy classes for him like T.D. mentioned. They really do help both dog and owner.

I have heard that these are very good for dogs. Supposedly eating off of the ground while standing up causes some problems with their front legs, neck and even throat. I'm not sure how true this is as dogs have been eating off of the ground for about a million years.

Started out as a recommendation for large breeds like St. Bernards, Great Danes, etc. They have shorter life spans as a rule anyway, one of the reasons being digestion problems. Studies have shown elevating their food can add some years to their lives. It is becoming a recommended practice for the mid to big breeds also, for the reasons you state.

Last night at Game Night my friends turned it in to a "Baby Shower". Complete with "It's a Girl" banner. But I did get a bunch of cool gifts and chewy things for Maggie! She's gonna be so spoiled!

How cool is that.

Maybe he can come visit Maggie anyway if it's just our house or hers.
