Yep. I now have an automated backup in place. To an external drive. I also have a second external to mirror the first.

I'm leaving nothing to chance anymore. I need an offsite backup as well..

Ditto. I started backing up to 2 separate dvd's each time and keeping them in my dad's super special safe.

How far is the magnificent mile? Is that downtown? We're hoping to stay here for 3 nights in the beginning of June.....CLICKY. Mostly cuz my friend and I will have our toddlers with us...and they have the neatest looking kid rooms, and Wii for us if we have any energy left after exploring all day.

The mag mile is right along the lakeshore. It's all downtown.

cause they are bankrupt and in liquidation - so all their stock must be sold to make as much money as possible before all their stores close.

in Boston they only have 10-30% off their prices so far (but i have not seen any 100mm macro lenses in the 2 stores i've been to - though they have many in this area)

wow I didn't know that. Maybe we'll stop by ours and see what's available.
