Actually yes, though it won't do you any good.

I have a EF-S 17-85 that is almost brand new that I need to sell if anyone is interested. It came as a kit lens with my 40D, and I have no need for it. Lisa used it a bit on the 20D is all.

I have no lensbaby. :D

Whaaaaaaaaaaaat? No need for it?!?! I have the 17-85mm lens. I think that it is pretty good....but yes, I'll have to do my homework for when I want to get something meatier.

It is a great lens in my opinion. But, it is redundant owning it and the 24-105 I use on the 5D2, so it will never get used.

Fun...Wife sent me this wonderful weather report :)

Snow will start about 4 pm in southwest New England and spread northeast it will reach Boston around 7 pm - It will be a wetter heavier snow in the southeast that the northeast.

What is expected now is all snow throughout southern New England – if the storm tracks further north that currently modeled there could be a rain snow mix as far north as Plymouth.

The snow amounts predicted are widespread 6-10 inches (8-10 in northeast Connecticut through Norwood and Taunton).

If the storm tracks further northward the band of higher snow fall amounts will also move northward.

Boston will see 6-10 inches New Hampshire 4-7 inches

Winds will be out of the northeast at 10-20 miles per hour gusting to 25 along the coast. Sea are predicted to be in the 5-10 foot range. Tides (Sunday morning) are predicted to be 12 feet Sunday with addition ¾ foot surge bringing them to a total height of 12.7 feet. – This means minor coastal flooding.

The storm will end in the noon to 1 pm range on Sunday – It will end in Essex County (Cape Ann) last.

Temperatures through the storm are freezing to the mid twenties further north – Sunday night teens to single digits throughout the area...

And I was hoping to try my tripod outside....guess I'll have to wait a little bit longer now.

This is Maggie. She is about a year old, and as sweet as can be. VERY mellow. (Not used to mellow dogs, LOL)

And Amikah, with her lips stuck under her teeth, wondering WHY I would ever CONSIDER taking a picture of ANY dog besides HER.

Aww....lookie at Maggie. *scritch*
 @ Amikah.

Sonofa...
yesterday, we go to the grocery store. Now, I have a major Coke-Zero addiction, I admit it, so we usually to save a few bucks buy a 24 pack. I pick up the package and notice that the 24 pack is no more, now its a 20 pack.
... For the price of a 24 pack, of course.

Well ain't that a beach!

Allie got a doll for Christmas that looks so real its scary. Too bad she's not much into dolls right now. Its weighted just right too, so it feels like you are holding a baby. Almost puts my hormones in action, lol.

I still haven't seen Wall-E.

I've had it at the top of my Netflix queue for weeks now. At least the status finally changed from "Very long wait" to just "Long wait"... Maybe I'll get it by summer.

I thought Netflix had a download movie rental....well, at least that is what the Xbox 360 set info said that I have.

Oh, and by the way... Steve (the "big boss") is a very good friend of mine from way back. Joan doesn't know that, though.

Lonnie, sorry to hear about your work woes. If you have this ace up your sleeve, you should use it. My previous supervisor was a lot like what you have explained in your posts....there were several instances of emails going to the big boss for us before. My supervisor eventually got promoted out of the office.

Nice John...very sharp.

Yep -- Accelerating the disk from a stand-still to 7000-10000 RPM is hard on the bearings, and the motor.

Also, computer components get hot, and expand and contract minuscule amounts when they heat. Eventually things will break (bend a paperclip back and forth for a while, and see what happens.)

Is it also bad that my Western Digital EHDs slow down by themselves and speed back up when accessed? Don't know how to prevent that.

CrazieCricket wrote in post #7040319 (external link)
That's what my puters do. After 15 minutes of inactivity they go into a sleep mode. So, this is bad? I can't just leave my laptop on all the time. That would ruin the monitor wouldn't it? I'm soooo confused now!!

You can actually change the power settings to leave the computer on and just turn off the screen...though there should not be any concern so long as you have a screen save turned on.

You're not going to believe it but I did skin retouching and a slight vignette on that. That photo is a typical example of the "angel factor" that the 1ds2 exhibits...imo. I don't know what it is...but even in a photo of Chris that I hardly touched (someone said he looked like an angel...hence the name angel factor)

sorry Chris but it's a perfect example

it's the camera. Truly.

Damn....I bought the wrong camera.

The 5D is sold.

I do have a grip for the 5D if anyone is interested, otherwise I will list it on the Sell thread tomorrow.

I will sell the 20D at a VERY good price if anyone knows someone who might be interested, otherwise I will just list it too.

Oh so tempted on the grip. Oh, so tempted.

For you, cheap like borscht. :D
Well, sort of. :p

Because most of my usage of the 5D was out in the back country, or trekking in the city, it has been used hardly ever. It is great for portrait work.

Anyone can PM me if interested, I am not going to list the stuff for a day or so anyway.
