I need some help here, every time I put my flash on my camera and shoot manual my camera keeps using more than one focus point...I have it set to the center one but have to keep re-setting it?

That's weird. You have the same camera and flash as me. I'll check my settings and see what I have, maybe there is something in there that does tha.

On another note, I didn't get the job...:cry::cry:

Sorry to hear that. Is it possible to drive to another city for a job? Many people around here drive about an hour to Austin to work.

Sorry! Show more leg next time with high heels of course.

You know...painted finger/toe nails got more votes from men who thought that was better.

Yeah, the interviewer was a woman. Well.... guess it might of worked on her too. Ya never know...;)

You never know in these days.

Congrats! *claps like Zane*

I use the center point focus 95% of the time. There are times, however, when the joystick thingy on the 5D is VERY handy to move it when shooting flowers, etc. The only time I DON'T enjoy that feature is when I'm shooting portrait (with the grip) and my strap hangs down and my nose presses the strap into the joystick thingy and it moves my focal point.

Thanks Chris

I too will move the ONE point but never do the "ring of fire" thing and was wondering if I was some how cutting myself short. I prefer to do everything manual or semi manual just because if I know what I want I might as well tell the camera to do it instead of letting the camera guess at it KWIM? I may be wrong here and need to trust the camera more? It seems most shooters use the center point.

OT - Does anyone ever fill in the blank "reason for edit" when they edit there post? More importantly, is there anyone out there in charge of reading said reasons?

You're talking about manual mode (M) on the camera, right?

Skrim17 wrote in post #7041684 (external link)
I don't think so, in order to change it I have to focus then use the joy stick thingie to move the spot and unless I engage the focus first I can't seem to change it. Weird.

Tell me all the settings you're using on the camera (40D?) and flash (420EX?) and I'll try to duplicate the condition with mine since I have the same camera and flash...

without any modification Diane? Diesel is expensive these days.

Some modification, but even WITH the modification, he figured out he's paying about 1.75/gallon final cost. 2.35 if he pays for his fryer grease, which he does from one place, cuz its NICE.

Woolburr wrote in post #7040420 (external link)
Bio-diesel is very popular here in the mountains....I love following the city transit bus....smells like french fries!

lol, its about enough to make me gag when he first starts the truck, cuz he keeps it inside, but after that, its not bad, and funny as anything to watch ppl sniff when you're out somewhere that doesn't have a fast food place anywhere close.

FOR SALE

Just to let you folks know before I list them on the 'For Sale' thread, I am selling both my 20D and my 5D. The 20D is well used, but working great. The 5D is still in great condition. They come with everything that was with them new. Only for those on this thread, I will make a great deal.

I am likely going to buy the G10 then for Lisa to use, and for myself when not wanting to lug a dSLR about.

I have a couple extra batteries too.

Have any extra batteries left for the 5D?

However, sometimes it smells like shrimp and sometimes like doughnuts as well.

BARF to the shrimp smell....donuts would be kind of fun....does it attract cops? ;)

What kind of work are you looking for? Just anything or a specific field?

At this point anything would be fine. Wish I had a nursing degree, there are alot of openings for that.
