I took these photos whilst on a recent assignment in Estonia. I did not have my husband along on this occassion (my technical director - who advises on all the camera settings) and would appreciate comments & critique on these two images.

As you can see, the first image is of a lady smoking a cigar. In the second image she's holding the cigar off camera - hence the smoke drifting across her face.

I think the second shot would of have benefited from having the cigar in the picture. The second shot looks so warm and cozy that a picture like this really works .. But I been photographing for a month so I can be totally wrong, however that's my opinion!

Obviously you were going for a "mood" feeling here. I like them however, the first shot shows very little of the cigar in the lower left. Possible lifting the cigar or adjusting the crop a bit might be more interesting.

The second as mentioned could definitely have used the cigar in the picture. She may be smoking a cigarette as far as the viewer is concerned or just near someone else smoking.

Either way they do express a mood which I find interesting.

A little lighting on the right side of her face would be good.
