A 40D would be a very nice upgrade for basically what you would spend on the repair or replacement (new) for your 20D. I picked up my 40D in stellar condition (1 owner) for $550. The deal included 3 batteries, digital shutter release, and all original accessories. If you look hard enough, and in this economy, if someone really needs to sell, you may stumble upon one heck of a deal. The 30D may be just a little too familiar, and thus may leave you wondering whether a higher up jump would've been the better choice. Good luck either way!

Kinda like my pants....

I got the blues.
I got the 501 blues.
Much to my surprize,
They don't make 'em my size.
So I sew two together,
And wear those 1002s.

OR... in a completely different vein, like a Dolly Parton Plus!

"Daddy, what's a zebra?"
"The largest size a woman can buy."

(Sorry, doesn't work the same for you Commonwealth types, with "zed" instead of "zee").
