Mostly the new anti-static coating seems to work. I've had to use a rocket-blower a few times, and the dust blows right off. But, now I've got a couple specs that don't move(one showed up at f/8), so it'll soon be time for a real cleaning.

Anyone done a wet or sensor-pen cleaning? I've never had an issue cleaning my other sensors, but the new anti-static coating has me hesitating. I don't want to be the first to scratch their 5d-II.

I believe that the coating is the same one used in all the orther cameras, no?

Not according the Canon. It was a new coating, designed to reduce static. Keeping dust off.

Overall, my 5d-II accumulates dust faster than my 1d-III. However, dust seems to dislodge(with a rocket-blower) easier on the 5d-II. So, I'm guessing the anti-static helps, but the shaker seems less effective than the 1d-III.

So, no one knows for sure about the softness of the anti-static coating? Or, has had to clean their sensor?

I'm not going first :)

And you can't live with a couple of specs?
Life with digital SLR would be unbearable then... :-)

Seen the debates, never used the stuff. Lately been stuck on SensorPen. Much easier than wet methods. If there's any truth to Canon using them, all the better.

I'm good for now. They're off to the side. But, given I've had the camera less than a week, and already have two specs that wont blow off, it won't be long before a real cleaning is required. One shows up at f/8, and is kind of annoying, but I can live with it for now :)

I have what I think is a water mark from changing the lens while it was snowing. The rest of the sensor looks pretty good and so far the dust seems to be staying away with the coating; however that mark is really bothering me and I would like to wet clean it but I am a little chicken and will wait to hear if it is any different than the other sensors without the coating to clean.

I've got a few bunnies, but haven't even done dust date or even the rocket blower yet. They seem to move around so maybe I need to cycle the power with no lens on it face down?

I am noticing a TON of dust on my focus screen though... I'll need to pull it and blow it soon.

How does one remove dust from the focusing screen?

The focusing screen is removable. There is a little tab thing towards the top of the body cavity that drops the screen down for removal. Then you can just pull it out and puff some air on it with a rocket blower. You want to be very careful not to touch the surface of the screen though as they are pretty sensitive.

Here's a vid
