Manfroto Joystick losing its grip

Wonder if any one who is using the Manfroto Joystick has problem with the grip which is losing its hold.

I find that now when I shift the joystick forward - it moves easily without me depressing on the grip. I have set the + to its maximum. I have even cleaned the ball using a tissue paper of any traces of oil.

Has anyone tried to dismantle it. Need some advise on this.

This is just what I have been looking for - the diagram. Looks like I have to change the part where the ball and socket are.

Using the diagram provided by you from the link, I have the problem solved. I used some solvent - gasoline (petrol) to clean the ball and there were lots of black stains on the tissue paper from the abrasion over the years which has caused it to act as lubricant rather than braking it. Thanks again.
