I'm still sticking with my NS August 11th prediction! The Canon Code says it must be August 11th, and then they'll show it off at the EXPO :)

Yes all us NS dorks are waiting for that. ;)

like it says in the bottom of that link; the source was CR who now says it was a wedding seminar thing..

i really don't see why a creative live-announcement would launch a rumor like this -since when did they actually have something to do with Canon and their announcements? all they do is to host online classes and such -so what would this event be like if it was connected to the 60D release? -an online class to learn people how to use the 60D?

i'm going with august as well, although not the 11th, my NS-sense says around the 20th like all the other xxD's

Haven't Canon announcements typically come on a Tuesday (in Japan)? So I'm thinking August 10 or 17, perhaps as late as the 24th. But then, I have to account for the fact that August might never come around, as per CG's theory.

ok, so new theory. The reason we didn't see the 60D last year is that the xxD line's 1 year product cycle is now a prosumer product cycle. 40D, one year later 50D, one year later 7D, and now one year later the announcement of a 60D would fall right in line with htis cycle and the EXPO. So far this year we've only seen one lens. Canon releases at minimum 3 lenses per year. I say we see at least 2 or 3 new lenses by the end of the year, at least 1 before the EXPO, announced with the 60D (if the 60D is announced). There will be a new DSLR. Maybe Canon will finally answer popular demand? (50mm f/1.4 update, 24-70mm IS, 60mm Macro H-IS, 135mm IS, etc.)

It IS a seminar, CreativeLIVE announced it yesterday morning on their Twitter. And since when does CreativeLIVE have something to do with Canon announcements ???
I'm thinking it might be the August 24th

When were wedding workshops announced/marketed as "Special Epic Events"? Does this mean that anyone who hosts a wedding workshop is hosting a truly epic event worthy of Homer's Odyssey?

sounds very plausible.. maybe the 60D gets announced with the new 60mm?

me too.. the xxD series so far has been announced between the 19th and 27th in either february or august, depending on the 18months cycle they had until 40D.. 17th which someone suggested would be my second bet..

If I remember correct, they've used that phrase (or similar) when marketing announcements of classes/workshops/events before, so I would guess thats just how they do it..

Where is the 60D that you keep on saying is on it's way or have you finally been blinded by reality?
