July 13th has come and gone and still no 60D.

We knew on the 12th that that wasn't happening. There will be some new lenses on the way and hopefully a new DSLR, with any luck the 60D.

What a bold prediction. New lenses and a new DSLR are on the way. When is the deadline for this one. August 24, 2095?

New lenses and new DSLRs are always on the way. It's not as if Canon is suddenly going to stop making new products, you know.

Maybe drop the CR guy an email that Canon is suddenly going to stop making new products. See if he publishes it.

I was talking in the next 2 months. Maybe not a DSLR, but new lenses, has to be true considering if there weren't any more introduced this year would be a record low for Canon lens announcements.

and judging by your arguments in this thread so far, you would be the first one to believe it was true...

I couldn't help think about this thread last night. I was taking pictures at my kids' swim meet when another parent came up and commented on my camera. He then went on to tell me that one of his good friends works for Canon and will often show up at outings with unannounced products (I assume w/out labels) and will mention things like "this is a new lens that will be announced in X months."

This parent was not really very interested in photography and I don't know him very well, so I didn't really feel the need (just because of this amusing thread that I follow even though I am not really interested in a 60D) to suggest: ask your friend about the 60D -- but I thought about it! :)

And consequently cost the unemployment of a supposed employee breaching a NDA.

No major corporation/employer will consider him for a position that requires privy to knowledge that has it's own clearance. The chances of someone with special knowledge that requires signing an NDA has more to risk and consider than most consumers take the time and consider themselves.

It is career suicide.

I know, I was just responding to CG's overstatement, lol. But I agree with you, I think something is coming down the pipe in August or September, at least lenses if not a new DSLR. :)

The next camera will probably be a 1100D\T2 or a 600D\T3i. Canon loves cranking out the rebels every 3 months.
