hehe, yeah... well I've always said the end of august -if its not here when september starts, my doubt will start to come as well, but yeah november/before 2011 is maximum..

I would expect it before the EXPO. After looking at old CR posts it looks as if it's usually pretty obvious a week or two before a new camera that one will be coming out and then about 3-4 days before Canon can't keep it quiet and you basically know what will be announced and when.

I agree... And it seems to me that the rumors already have started to narrow in slightly.. Like, we knew more or less what the 7D would be like a few days before and even before that you could see a slight trend in the specs going in that direction.. Although there was lots of nonsense as well and there still is now:p

So...any guesses on what lenses we'll see. 60D or not I think we'll be seeing new lenses soon.

the 60 macro IS seems to be quite obvious at least... I dont know if I belive in the 24-70 IS but I wont be surprised if it comes either.. then maybe a 14-24? Wasnt there a patent for that one as well?

Try to compete with Nikon? I've heard of some people being drawn to Nikon simply because of that lens and Canon lack of a great FF UWA. I could see that happening, it would be a good decision, but I would think they would announce it with the 1Ds, considering it is gear toward FF users. I don't think we'll see a 135mm. I'm wondering if they'll announce any EF lenses with the 60D, maybe they'll add a new EF-S (along with the 60mm), like they did with the 7D, and save any Ls for the 1Ds?

A longer macro with H-IS (180mm/200mm) has been mentioned a few times as well -wouldnt be too surprised if that became reality either..

So you think they're redoing the whole 1:1 lineup?

I'm crossing my fingers on the reintroduction of the 500/5.6..... but that's just wishfull thinking

I have no idea but it doesnt seem too unlikely imo..

Btw, speaking of the "deadline" for a 60D.. if it doesnt come, then I'd also doubt a 550D replacement next spring in the usual 12months cycle... I mean what new would there be to add with 7D still being the newest higher end crop body? Only thing would be articulating lcd perhaps..

I'm thinking the next Rebel will be an XS replacement, but you're right. The T2i is so jammed with stuff, unless they add more pixels, but the limit for APS-C look like 18mp right now.

yeah a replacement for 1000D/XS could still happen -actually it would be quite obvious.. (If not we'd have to seriously start discussing if canon has stopped making new products:p)

The "Kiss" name was already registered with someone else I believe. Not 100% on that but there were copyright issues involved when naming the product. But that's a good point, why can't it just be called 500D all around? Rebel T1i or Rebel T2i in big red letters makes it look like a radio shack brand* discount item

* = Radio Shack is a neat store with nice employees and has good deals on small parts like headphone jacks and hard to find batteries, maybe even cell phones, I don't know, but no disrespect was meant to Radio Shack, I like them

It remains to be seen if it will come or gain L status, though the CR guy said he has a CR 2-3 source telling him of a new EF non-L prime, but won't say what it will be
