About what the 60D will be going for at release? I would like to know where one can get such a good deal (a friend of mine is considering the 7D; it's well too late for me, unfortunately, lol). As far as I can tell, most reputable retailers still have the 7D body-only for around $1699. Of course I am speaking of brand-new, not used. $1425 is a steal! Alex | flickr

My cousin had a whole shipment of these fall off the back of a truck in Jersey... I'm off lining my cage with newspaper.

Not unless you get some exceptional oddball deal with bing cashback or something like that. The price of the 7D hasn't budged one dollar at any of the reputable retailers (Adorama, B&H, etc.). The price of the 7D is $1699, and that's where it's going to remain for a while. It took the 5D Mark II over a year to drop at all in price, so the 7D could take that long as well. I just hope it is soon. and I hope it brings big changes, like even better iso performance than the 7d ![]() You realize that "digic" is just the name of Canon's CPU, right? Like Intel's Pentium. Faster CPU's are needed to throughput increasing MP count image sensors and perform more and more noise reductions. A faster CPU can do more to the image data than its previous older CPU. That's all. Image improvements related to faster CPU's are nearly all for JPG output only since RAW data is RAW data.
