Excellent photos. I lived in Newcastle for nearly four years and never even made it there for a photo!

Thanks....most times I went there, it was pretty dull, and not worth taking a photo of....but this time around, it came out very nicely.

second one is a great improvement. the three figures near the foot of the statue...wish those could be 'shopped out... and crop some of the right side out, maybe down to a square format??

I prefer the softer tones and warmer hues of the first. Nice effort all around though

Ugly structure but very nice image. I prefer the colours of the second, but I would have put a bit more of the ground in the frame.

Thanks, it was difficult to get a "clear" shot of the structure, because there were so many people around. If I had waited, the sun would have gone down and the opportunity for a nice shot would have also disappeared too. I think by leaving the people in, it is nice because you get an idea of the sheer size and scale of the structure. the "wingspan" is larger than the Statue of Liberty is "tall". Thus in terms of cropping out the right hand side and making it a squarer format takes away from the photo.

It is pretty ugly, I'll admit that, and rusty too. In terms of getting more ground in, it is very hard to do that. There is a main road behind me, and the A1(M) on the otherside. The Angel sits on a mound, that is surrounded by shrubs. That and I didn't have a wide-angle lens to be able to capture enough. But thanks for looking

Fair enough, but if it was me I would have faked it by adding a few rows of pixels at the bottom and shading in black, you may be able to get away with this seeing as the ground is in silhouette.

Actually seeing it again I was referring more to the first, the second is much better.

Understandable. The 2nd one has a black border around it.

Not because of the border, there's more ground and it extends to the left border which I thinks makes a big difference.
