I've been plagued by missing plugins in CS2 for quite some time. I've posted requesting help on this matter before and received the advice of uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop. I've done this several times to no avail. I'm on a Mac. I've also reset to "factory" setting when opening photoshop.

Some of what I'm missing:
Under Filters >Blur I have no lens blur
No Texture at all, or Distort Filters etc. I'm sure many others are missing that I'm not aware of.

Recently I downloaded the trial version of Nik Software Silver Efex Pro. This should end up located under Filter>Nik Software>Silver Efex Pro when in photoshop. It just ain't there. When installing, I verified that it was going into the correct path (adobe plugins). The missing plugins can be found if I go to Finder>Adobe Photoshop>Plugins but I'm getting the message
"Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file".

I was hoping to upgrade to CS4 but am worried the upgrade will be corrupted. I've been trying to figure this dilema out for about six months off and on now. I have the complete handicap of being severely computer challanged. Any ideas?

I should add that this has been a problem since my hard drive crashed. A new one was installed and data was recoverd but I had to reinstall photoshop cs2.

Ellen,

Wish I could help, but I'm a Windows hack and know little about Macs. I know what I would advise a Windows user, but that may not equate.

Perhaps you should consider posting your problem in the computer forum which is a sub-forum under this one. You might find a few more computer geeks down there.

Good luck.

Edit: consider asking a mod to move the post. I believe there is a TOS rule against double posting.
