Hey Everyone...new to the forum. Are you all a part of any photo clubs or do you just get together to take pictures? I am also in Metro Detroit, so was wondering if there are any scheduled outings or anything.

So apparently wrangling Michiganders is similar to wrangling Arizonans...

I think our average out here is down to about 1 per year.

Frank has done a good job organizing several successful group shoots over the years.

Well I think the winter snow puts a beautiful "blanket" over the ugly that is michigan in some areas.

Im in Waterford. Anyone want to meet up? Im still pretty new to photography and really want to work on it.

Is anyone planning to be in Atlanta for the Sno*Drift rally event? I am considering it. I have never been to the event (let alone any rally) so I'm not sure what to expect or prepare for.

I will be there... Sno Drift is usually a toss up... I have been to Mud Drift, Ice Drift (the usual) and every once and a while, snow drift. In other words the weather is the one thing that is hard to plan for, so be ready for anything.

I could give you some tips on getting around. RA does a great job of setting up spectator areas, but that's only if you like to take the same shots as everyone else.

Hope you can make it!

Erik

My main concern is getting there as it will probably be a 6 hour drive for me...if the weather cooperates.

Do you know if they will have different "stages" set up or is it just one point a-to-b course? As I understand it there will be one super special course somewhere between (or around) Lewiston Sand and Gravel and Kneeland St. where all events will take place. It looks like they will start at 2:31pm on Friday (29th) and continue 8:30 Saturday morning. At least that's what I am gathering between the Sno*Drift and the Rally America website. Any tips would be great.

For those interested there is a Photography Captive Birds of prey shoot at the Howell Nature Center on Sunday. 11:00 slide show and some basic instruction. then Lunch then 2 or 3 hours out in the fieled with several Owl's and Hawk,s they are tethered to a perch. Great opportunit to get some nice shots Its $60 and there are still a few spots open I just registered this morning.

Henry Ford Museum, this weekend, hosted by me.

Friends are afforded priority, but they haven't yet responded
to my invitation.

Meet me at the door; I'll admit myself and any two others.
First come, first served.

When: Saturday, 10:00 AM.
