G2 Camera No Power

My G2 camera died. I don't think it is the battery, although it could be. What is weird is I plug in the charger, and I don't get power.

My 8-year old took a couple pictures, then by mistake pushed the menu button. I ceared it, she then tried to take another picture. The power was dead. So I figured the battery was dead (although it was recently charged). No light on when the charger gets plugged in.

I checked to make sure the flap was closed, battery contacts, etc

How old is the battery. To my knowledge there is a maximum (ca. 200) relaods. Did you always charge after each photo session instead of waiting and to reload only after ca. 300 shots.

I'm pretty sure its not the battery. I also just took it to Best Buy and plugged it into another power unit. No power. I asked a guy, qill it work without a battery if plugged in. Yes he said.

So something is screwed up.

I emailed Canon. They said something is wrong. I saw some posts about firmware bad in G2. Too bad. Sounds like I'm going to get whacked to get them to fix their bad software.
