Paypal fund status "on hold-ship now"?

Hello fellow POTN members..

I just sold a photo printer dock on ebay. On my auction, it states that I will not ship item until money clears into my account. The buyer sent me money on via paypal for the amount over $170. The status on the fund is "On hold - ship now". If i do not ship the item, it may take up to 21 days for funds to be released into my account according to paypal. Is that the normal procedure now with paypal? Can the seller send money and get it cleared into my account asap?

I just bought my flash a few weeks ago and I didn't notice a hold on my funds to the seller. Should I send the item? Or is someone trying to pull a quick one on me?

Don't ship anything until you have the money in your bank account.
My guess is that you're being scammed and you won't ever see that money.

Im not sure if this is the right forum for this.........but in my experiences I have never heard of this. If I was the seller there would be NO WAY that I would send send any item without it being paid in full. Be careful. Maybe you should contact Paypal. Good luck with this.

Is yours a new Paypal account? If so, that's why. Part of Buyer/Seller protection. Same thing happened to me. They'll release the funds after 21 days or earlier if the buyer gives positive feedback. Also might get released earlier if you ship with a verifiable shipper, i.e,., FedEx, UPS, or USPS Priority mail with Delivery Confirmation. It sucks, I know...

IT has to do with Ebay's new structure. If you have under 100 sales or some number, and then you sell an item over $100.00. They hold the funds until 3 days after an item is shown as having been delivered, feedback is left, or 21 days after the close of the auction. All in the name of protecting the buyer.

i've got about 700 verified paypal transactions and i've never heard of this either. i wouldn't ship anything until i have the money.

it's a paypal/ebay thing to protect the buyer. I sold a camera a couple months ago on ebay and got the same "funds are on hold". If you ship through paypal, your funds will clear. They will also clear 24 hours after positive feedback from the buyer. Or, they will clear if there are no issues/complaints from the buyer for 21 days after the sell date.

I got my money 24 hours after my buyer left me positive feedback.

Another reason why ebay kinda sucks now. They used to be pretty cool. Now if you want to sell on ebay you are forced to take Paypal. That is not right!

Appreciate all your quick response. My paypal has been opened since 01 with 21 verified buyer (don't know what that means). Ebay has been open around the same time with 51 positive feed backs. This totally sucks..haha

Ship the item via paypal's shipping label method and your payment will be cleared a few days after it gets delivered. This is not a scam...
