I currently have a Manfrotto light stand that I just picked up. I am going to be using it with a 430ex speedlite, to try and light up my living room when taking pictures of the kids.
Since my kids hardly ever sit still, I am thinking that an umbrella is probably best since it is not as directed as a softbox. Am I correct in this assumption? Also, if I were to get a white translucent umbrella, I could use that as a pseudo softbox by shooting through it to diffuse the light, right?
What is a good bracket that I can mount to the top of the swivel head that will act as a hot shoe for my flash, but also allow the attachment of the umbrella or softbox? <---whichever you guys recommend.
