Hey Folks,
Alrighty, looks like I need some recommendations here. I'm looking to create a short slide show to put on the intro page of my new website. The old slide show I'm using is really low quality and apparently it won't even play in Internet Explorer (although it seems to work fine in Netscape and Firefox). This is really breaking new ground for me...in the "old days" I've played around with programs such as Adobe Premier, but I've never really done any serious work with anything like video, slideshows, etc.. I did try using MS's Powerpoint once, but as with most things MicroSoft, I had rather mixed results.

I'm looking for something that will be effective, relatively easy to use and reasonably affordable (if not freeware). Also, I would need something that will keep the file sizes down...I'm using a free hosting site for my new webpage so I have rather limited space available. Please also be aware that my coding skills are rather limited...I'm pretty much stuck with HTML for my website until I can afford to pay someone to do better, so whatever is created is going to have to be something I can work with in HTML.

I know I'm asking for champagne here on my usual cheap beer budget, but as they say, it never hurts to ask!

As always, thanks!
Jim

I use ProShow Gold for my slideshows, it can output to a .swf file for the web, although I have not used that part very often. I like the program, easy to use, and fairly inexpensive.

I'm trying this now...how in the WORLD do you get it on a blog? It will not export as flash, even when I go thru and *gasp* read the directions. I'm really frustrated.

There was another thread (here) about creating slideshow to which I responded a few minutes ago. Creating slideshow from RSS feed may be quite easy and all you need to do is to include a few lines of javascript code on your site to get it running.
