I would only buy a 5D2 if I were going to only shoot landscape & I needed giant prints.
In every other circumstance I would take the D700.

I think that, for me at least, the 5dII still wins out. Though if anyone wants to send me a 7d to test, I might find a way to change my mind. (same goes for the d700, as several friends swear by it.
