Photography...and gear buying that is!

I got my first DSLR just over a month ago, the XS kit with the 18-55 and the 75-300 from B&H. Picked up a case locally. Justified the purchase to myself that this would be a great start and would get me by for a while.

A week or so later, I go and buy a remote shutter release and a Puffer for the flash, plus a couple of filters. Good to go for a good while I thought.

Today I went and bought a 50mm f/1.8 II locally (got a gift card for Christmas) and just a few minutes ago I ordered a 55-250mm IS and a 430EX II from Adorama. I am now telling myself that this will get me by for a good long while.

How do I stop, and is there a support group (because this site is only making it worse...LOL)

The cure can be found www.canon.com (external link), the side affects include lite wallets, clicking sounds at odd times of the day, urge's to shoot people you don't know, followed with long bouts of endless drive to overcome OOF and increasing need for DOF

Wait until you get your first L lens.

Then you'll want to balance it out with a XXD series or a 5D(MKII). Good luck, I hope you have plenty in the bank account.

I found the solution is to stop visiting this forum. You keep finding more stuff to purchase if you keep reading the forums.

I started out the same way and then I went towards the L glass. My justification was this, 18-55? The image quality is good, but not great. I'm going to purchase the L eventually anyways right? Why not have better glass now?

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Calling all cars, Calling all cars, be on the look out for a large red L, it is wanted for questioning in the case of "THE MISSING DOLLARS" Be advised that it will stop at nothing till it has all your money. Approach with caution and Do Not Look Into its EYE.

Yeah, I suggest you stop looking at the black market section.

And I suggest you not to try out any L's in camera stores for your wallet's sake

Yaa though I walk in the valley of my local camera supply store, I will fear no salesman. I have money but ahh I'm starting to think I should have left it at home, cause there ain't no way I'm going to be able to leave here without spending any or all of it. Help!

As much as I hate to see another victim of Canon-itous, we love to see the family grow. And once you're in, it's nearly impossible to get out. So, just accept the fact that your bank account will be empty and your credit cards will be maxed out. But at least you have Love!

I sorta fixed my prob, well up till now.
I have two 5D's one with a 24-105 L and the other with the canon workhorse, 70-200 2.8L IS, the 24-105 only comes off to clean the sensor It's a dust magnet.
But N O W I want the 2-5DII's an a 24-70
