I found the solution is to stop visiting this forum. You keep finding more stuff to purchase if you keep reading the forums.......

+1.

:-P

That one already has me drooling. No way it will be purchased any time soon though.

If I had to chose just one lens and one only, though its like holding a lead brick after a full day, I would chose that one. Its not a close up lens (obviously)(well for my tastes anyway) but you can stay out of the way and get what you need to. I think for Portraits its a very flattering lens. I like to us it at about 100mm or so maybe a bit more.

I'm totally addicted. I'm thinking about selling my 17-55 so I can buy a 5D 2, and I just got the 17-55 3 months ago!

this site really gets me thinking i need to order more moremore stuff and now now now.

i (seriously) force myself to stop visiting potn to get my mindset right again. somehow this place actually convinces me that I need a $900 lens as soon as i read about it.

i just have to stop browsing potn, and conciously think that the stuff will be there later. also, i'm between dslrs currently....nothing from canon or nikon within my price range really jump out at me lately. the D300 maybe....but when i read about the xsi, 40d, 50d, 5d mki here....eventuallly i will almost convince myself that i need the camera.....actually i'm not 100% impressed with any of them. wish the 5d mkii was a little cheaper....

i'm fine with my over priced lomo toy camera for now. ....ughhhh gotta log off, i feel an itch to browse the lens section lol.....

How true all this is! I just bought my first DSLR back in November. Bought many extras including two lenses yet im still in Lens fever. presently firmly gripped in the 24-70 or 24-105 decision, with back up concerns on when i might go full frame with a 5d mark2.

I still havent taken a killer picture yet either, though there are many im happy with. I 'm at least able to put my bying pattern on hold, but only because im leaning to the 24-70 and wondering if the new Sigma 24-70 might be the way to go.

Still, I also think i've found a hobby, probably an obsession, i'll enjoy for the rest of my life.

I am now telling myself that this will get me by for a good long while.

How do I stop, and is there a support group (because this site is only making it worse...LOL)

There's no stopping it now! Just wait until you get L fever and Gitzoitus...that's when it starts to get real expensive!
