Black's more slimming. You wouldn't want your camera to feel fat would you? (We should leave that to the models)

Why would you not use the lens' tripod mount?

Stress testing the lensmount?

:D

I think if the silver was metal as apposed to plastic it would have a much more attractive look. The silver IMO just looks cheap.

Yeah I'm with NJ, if it was metal I think maybe people would be more accepted of silver camera. To me it just don't give you feel of a solid body.

Well, the silver is silver plastic over metal. The black is black plastic over metal. IMHO, on the XSi, both colors look exactly like what they are: Plastic.

I had my silver XTi for about a year and i liked it. I don't know what i was thinking at the time of purchase, but i liked the silver more then the black. Now i have just the black 20d/40d bodies.

I think silver is nice if it was on a 1d body. The silver xt look cheap because the silver makes it look really "plasticky". Just my opinion

I always thought a silver Rebel would make a good vacation camera where you did not want to attract much notice. You could bring some of your regular glass and keep the pro bodies at home.

I wouldn't want to spend $400 to try to keep a lower profile. I could spend that $400 on a good flash or a 17-85mm. The lens, even on a Rebel, is going to attract way more attention than the color.

I almost bought a silver Rebel a long time ago but fortunately the store was out and I got a black rebel instead. Personally I think that the silver cameras look unprofessional and I don't know what I was thinking back then.
