Here are some images from a studio session i did with Gina. Shes a Contemporary dancer and is currently in school for dance so she needed some pictures for her Portfolio. Poses were up to her, i just made sure they all looked ok.

I contacted a friend who has a studio, and he was kind enough to let me use his studio. Including lights and his 5D (first time shooting FF). Most of the images i used my 70-200 2.8IS. I'm still new to studio work and lighting so CC is appreciated. Used a AB800 in a large octabox, and some of the shots i used a ABR for a rim light & 2 AB800 for the background.

Are the skin tones looking off by any chance? They looked great on my MBP but "BLAH" on my work Dell.

No skin tone looks good. Dancers I think even more so than models have such a good understanding of line and flow you never have to worry about there hands and feet being in an bad position.

great shots for your first time! i would try to dodge the shadows a bit under her as its a tiny bit distracting from the solid bg, but exposure is awesome!

OMG yes, Very little tweaking was needed with both of these dancers. They would think of a pose, and i would just ask them to make some slight alterations of it. Just to try different things. But for the most part everything was perfect. Very fun too.

Wonderful series... If these don't earn you business, you're showing them to the wrong people! Thanks for sharing. Numbers 2,3 and 4 are my faves--couldn't choose between them.

Was she posing naturally? or dancing while you are shooting?

Most times she would get into a pose and try to hold it to her best abilities. Alot of the shots it would be a single movement and i would have to catch it at its peak.
Which is VERY tough.. so there were many takes.. haha
