This is a photo from my final project in my B&W photography course at Texas State University this past semester. There's no EXIF because it was shot on film. The scan's not quite as sharp as the original, but that goes with the territory I suppose. C&C always appreciated.

Well I would prefer the tree not coming out of the top of the subjects head and I asume the shadow detial is much better on the original. I do like the overall mood. Probably if you the photographer could have shot from another foot or two higher or if you were to have moved a foot to your left the tree would no longer be a problem.

Appreciate the comments. You're right--I should've moved the camera a bit higher. Couldn't move to the left or right because that one tree was just barely blocking the street light.

I've got another in this series I'll try and upload tonight...

Aside from what has already been said, I think it's pretty awesome.

I love everything about this picture, the name really fits too you can sense some type of emptiness and sadness, maybe it's just me - I don't know , but I enjoy it and could see in a frame.

great image! i concur with the above, possibly setting up slightly to the left to keep the top half of the subject in the clear and to nudge the large front tree slightly right

Here's another from the session. I call it "Menace." Reminded us both of some scene from a B-grade horror movie. And this one doesn't have a tree growing out of her head.

My eye would like to see a tad bit more light dipping down onto the subject. Or some other slight illumination on the subjet would have really helped imho. But very nice!
