I am using photoshop CS3. According to Adobe camera raw 4.6 is the latest version that is supported by CS3.
Anyone know if this contains camera raw for the G10 as I would like to process the raw files directly in photoshop rather than the Canon software.
The latest version of Adobe camera raw is 5+ which does contain the G10 but which is not compatible with CS3.

Any ideas?

Pete

I'm pretty sure it won't :(

If you want to use Photoshop for the RAW files, download the latest DNG converter (comes with the 5.xxx update) and convert the CR2 files to DNG. CS3 will then be able to open the DNGs.

You can only get ACR 5.2 if you upgrade to CS4 or buy Lightroom 2.2 It is a long term (frustrating) policy of Adobe to only allow the newest ugrades to the newest version of their software. So, once CS5 comes out, you will have to upgrade again to get the latest ACR.

Just installed CS4 and the camera RAW 5.2 update. Soooo much easier:D But...shame on Adobe for not supporting previous versions of photoshop with this...thats B.S. As much as these programs cost they should support all RAW formats directly for LIFE.

I'm too poor to buy the new lightroom, so I use the software that came with my g10 to view my RAW files then convert them to jpg. Pain in the behind.

Photoshop Elements will work for the RAW files and it is a heck of a lot less expensive than CS4.

It still has much of the needed functionality for most people, unless you do a lot of post processing.

Just get the free DNG converter (external link) and still use CS3.

light room is 99 bucks and you can get cs4 for like 250. It is a legit site that is where I bought cs2 and cs3.

Does Bridge pop up when you plug in the camera to download your photos, or are you using the Canon software to download your images?

I used Adobe Bridge, bundled with CS3, and when I'm downloading, you can select the option to "import and convert to DNG," or something like that. I'm not in front of it right this second, but you should be able to tell it to convert whilst downloading, and then you can work directly from there. It might take a tad longer, but I think it'd be worth your wait, and won't cost anything but time.

Are you connecting your camera to the computer to transfer your RAW files?
