Damn! I was reading this thread, not aware of the date, and I was thinking.......the KING HIMSELF has a 50 f/1.8? AND he is raving and drooling over it as the best 70 bucks he ever spent? So maybe I can finally take my 50 1.8 back out and shoot it again without feeling the SHAME?

... is this even the SAME guy who wanted to buy the 50 f/1.0L and now a 50 f/1.2L?

Hey umm, no hard feelings, we'll just say some guy hijacked your account and wrote some nonsense while you were away and the mods didn't delete it, yeah?

Is this the 50 f/1.8 or the 300 f/2.8 we're talking about here?

Dante, do you still use a 50 prime? If so which one - I know you were hankering after that 1.0 version, and that you have a mind for the 1.2 version. Do you still have the lens that was the best $70 ever? And are you now glad, with hindsight, that you did not get the older lens?

I really miss a 50mm FOV but full frame will have to wait.

Please note the date of the first post. ;)

That nifty is long gone. As is its replacement.

Dante's testing the new 50mm f/1.2L for me so I can decide if I want one. :D
