Can the 5DM2 use autofocus to shoot movies? I have the lens in AF but it doesn't seem to function during movie mode.

Thanks

In video mode, you can only focus with the AF-ON button --- assuming you have "Live Mode" focus activated. Please do read your user manual, or read any of the dozens of past discussions over this same question.

I am not a videographer by any means, and I didn't even sleep in a Holiday Inn last night...

But do professional cinematographers and videographers even use autofocus? When I look at films, television, and commercials, what I seem to see most are either fixed focus takes or what looks like a fast manual shift from one pre-determined focus point to another pre-determined focus point.

Thanks Strawberry for your reply. OK, I guess I just need to go a little further back in time to see one of the previous posts regarding this question.

Now that you mention that... that's what I recall too. Good question that I would like to know the answer to as well.

I am Henry. NOT Hank. And certainly not a length of rope tied in a knot. ;)
My family calls me Hen, but you can call me Chicken. See you out there!
