Many thanks for the comments, what surprised me about these Red Kite shots is that a few minutes before taking them Id slipped over on some ice spraining my wrist, dropping my Canon40D and Canon 100-400 lens and it still worked.

Bet youre glad you bought a Canon then! The cat knocked my 5D and 100-400 off the kitchen worktop onto a tiled floor. No damage. I set them on the car roof one day and the wind caught them. Still works perfectly.
