I have a 30D and 10-22mm and I've just recently upgraded to the 5D Mk2. I will now use my old 30D as a backup camera. My main question is should I continue using the 10-22mm on my 30D or should I sell the lens and get the 16-35mm for my new 5D instead? Is it worth the upgrade? My main thing is will I see a big difference in picture quality?

There is a least one wedding photographer on this forum who says he gets better results with the 10-22 on a crop body than when using the 16-35 on FF.

you could always rent a 16-35 and see how much you like it.

when i used my 30d as a back-up to my 1d mark III it largely collected dust. i'd only want lenses that fit my main camera.

i'd get the 16-35L II which i think is superb on FF as well as 1.3 crop and 1.6 crop.

Thanks for all the responses. Image quality is pretty much my main concern...

If you should happen to decide to sell that 10-22, PM me first. I might be interested.

The 10-22 is the only reason I'm keeping my 30d (well that and to have a backup).

Same here... If I decided to let go of my 10-22 the only reason I would be keeping the 30D around is for my 70-200 f2.8L IS for sport shooting and the extra reach.
