I like them ... nice job.
#4 for me, where is the groom - oh there he is .... in with the trees. :D

#2 is a sweet shot and #5 - good composition/pp. On #5, you might want to see if you can clone out the light between them.

1. This is a well-executed ring shot as far as they go. The client will love it, I'm sure. I wonder if it would be possible, though, to possibly get the rings a bit in advance and shoot them in a studio where you can really pump out the light and get the shine and depth of field that these objects deserve. This is in no way a criticism of your work... It's common to all in situ ring shots and is a natural consequence of the way we work. I'm just pondering out loud if there might be a better way. Don't know if brides and grooms would go for handing you the rings for a few hours, though.

2. I think the angle suits the building (artistically, not as an architectural shot of course) but I don't know if it suits the bride. She doesn't seem to be a part of this scene, or really enthusiastic about posing in it.

3. Oy. Splotchy, mottled light. Beautiful in person, but tough for photographs. You did really well in choosing the perfect position along the aisle to minimize that problem. Maybe hit them with a bit of flash to make it go away entirely and bring focus more to them?

4.
Groom: Come with me to Narnia!
Bride: No! I must stay here in the forest. It is my destiny!

Technically a well-executed photograph, but her body language says, "I'm leaving you" to me.

5. The light in between them has been spoken of, and needs to be cloned out.

On the whole, these are excellent, and the couple will love them. But I really wouldn't show number 4 to the couple. It's not bad photographically, but it's not going to sell.

I am not my gear. I hate the word "bokeh." Photography is an art: BE AN ARTIST!

Awesome thank you for those comments...

They were a pretty tough couple and it was hard to get any kind of emotions from them.. the bride wouldnt stop stressing and at times I got the impression she would rather be somewhere else, so I was lucky to get what I got. lol It was my toughest one to date :/

Re the rings - Its not often I actually get to do the rings with the bride's engagement ring.. here in NZ usually the groom has them and only has the wedding rings, so I jumped on the opportunity to photograph them when the bride had them. Unfortunately I dont have a decent macro lens yet so these were taken with the Canon 24-70. I've taken about 50 different shots, so there are a lot more I can do things with - this was just the first that jumped out.. They were outside on a table under a plastic type roof that diffused the sunlight, so sort of close to a studio situation. I was happy that I got about half an hour to play with them and try a few things.

Maybe she just felt conscious of her size and was uncomfortable having her picture taken? I know my bigger brides are just that much harder to work with and I put it down to that.

The wedding was planned to perfection - and thats her personality - it was mentioned in their speeches about military precision. She just seemed focussed about the next thing that was happening during the day instead of relaxing and enjoying it - even when we were half an hour ahead of time for photos cos I was trucking through trying to keep her stress levels down.. oh well :) we got there in the end.

My plan for the jetty shot - was slightly different to how it turned out.. It wasnt quite big enough to get the right angle I wanted.. I do have other shots in the same area and probably one where she is smiling too.. I just havent had a chance to look through them all yet - still finishing off the wedding before and this one has about 1500 photos to sort through.

I really like #2 but my eyes can't stop ignoring the bride and automatically follow the lines of the building
