I use cs3 had subscription to photshopplus for the last 12 months but now find it is reapeating itself. So got to thinking can me money be better spent elsewhere.
I enjoy the pp side of things and have come on leaps and bounds to when i first started have books by katrin eismann, ben willmore, scot kelby.
I recently downloaded free copy of user magazine from napp .
now they list a whole lot of benifits of joining but as i am in uk will never get to use some .
So my question is how many in uk are members is it worth it or should i be looking at something else to improve my photoshop knoledge.
cheers shane

I've just come to the end of a year's digital membership of NAPP and to be honest am having problems trying to justify renewing. I didn't get that much out of the membership apart from the magazine, which is good but is expensive for a digital magazine.

The discounts are mainly for USA members, even for the global companies like Epson, Adobe and Apple.

Try looking at Photoshop User TV, Layers TV, Planet Photoshop, Photoshop Killer Tips & Lightroom Killer Tips all of which are produced by NAPP and are similar. Also, all have podcasts available on iTunes or Adobe TV, except Planet Photoshop. Layers TV also has a magazine which is OK but not just Photoshop specific.

Saying that I've just signed up for a Kelby Training subscription, which seems better value, especially as you can subscribe monthly.

Similar to Kelby Training is Lynda.com.

My feelings exactly. Although it has been about 2 years since I joined NAPP then promptly asked for my money back, and they may have changed. As people say, the tutorials were many, but mostly about small specific tasks about things that you may or may not ever need.

At that time I was unable to find what I was searching for: good, comprehensive tutorials that would teach me photoshop; i.e., All About Layers, or All About Channels. There was nothing there.

But then that makes sense, because they want you to purchase the DVDs that are All About Layers and All About Channels.

I found the NAPP site almost worthless, except for the potential for support when you had a question. But then you can get that here, free!
