Ok finally got back to a middle school basketball game, this time it's girls 8th grade team. Ambient light, no flash allowed :-(
I tried to get under the basket for some shots this time.

Check white balance. Look at the difference in the color of the ball in the two images. The skin tones in the second image are really 'hot,'

Nice call on the wb Dr Z, also you might want to check the horizon line in the shots they feel a little "tilted" to me, but I've spent the last 2hrs in a freezing hockey arena doing test shots, so my brain is a little fuzzy at the moment.

You've done a good job catching the girls expressions and the ball in action. Watch the crops, watch the white balance, and do what you can with the background, I know little gyms sometimes there isnt alot you can do, but things to keep in mind.

Your doing fine, keep it up.

I'd also recommend part 7, those hardwood floors are killer.
