What started as an experimental "get-to-know-you" session with my new 420EX and polarizing filter turned into an extreme excersise in patience and frustration.

Below is the best of about 50 pictures taken. I had a really hard time getting the coin to not over-expose and the background to not under-expose. I learned a lot today. I finally dumped the speedlight and ran with ambient, though that didn't teach me much about the speedlight I was trying to learn.

I have not seen these "Silver" dollars, but knew they were out. Looks very nice to me in all ways. That 420 would have to be bounced or sent through a umbrella to 'calm' the light down enough for the reflective surface of the silver coin. As best I know. Nice shot btw.
