there's been a few birds at my feeders that i am trying to get a photo of

but its in the mid 20's

i plan on putting it on the tripod and use a remote to take a photo

would being out in the cold for a long time be a problem?

I haven't had a problem so far with weather in the 20's, even the battery stays charged.

I had mine in 5-15 degree weather for up to an hour exposed and it was 100% fine.

No, just follow the guidelines in the manual about condensation when bringing it back indoors. That is, put it in a plastic bag until it warms back up.

the camera will be fine - just warm it up slowly afterwards . The batteries may not last as long in the cold though :)

As I said, the camera should be fine - yoru fingers may not last as long depending on how cold it is
