It is no longer stocked at two of the local camera stores here. I understand there were a lot of complaints regarding focusing issues.

If it is discontinued, what is the best lens in the 50-150 (or 200) range now? I don't necessarily *need* the 2.8 although it would be nice. But I would take f4 as the minimum for the entire range.

One thing that was appealing about the sigma was the fact that it was so small and compact.

It's still in production. The focus issue you refer to is at very close distance (within 8 feet) and only at 150mm or so.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

They discontinued the 50-150 f/2.8 EX DC HSM
They still produced the 50-150 f/2.8 EX DC HSM II

Stock of the first version still exist though.

Is that with the second copy 50-150 f/2.8 EX DC HSM II only or with both?

But neither camera store here is carrying either version anymore. They said that they were stocking the 50-150 or the 18-200 anymore.

I don't know about vII as I have vI. I also just checked Sigma4Less and they have it in stock (gray market).
