Same goes for the folks who build the new presidential limosine or who prepare the food for the first family -- its an honor to do this for the president, regardless of your own personal political views. Anyone who would refuse these jobs just because they disagree with the president politically are probably far too political anyway. EOS 5D Mark III

The experience and everything else that goes along with that job would be something to cherish. I love my job - but to be able to have that D.C experience would be awesome. Is this some NYC photographer making thousands a day? No - but the paycheck comes twice a month - and can be guessed within pennies. I like that security/certainty. Hey, off topic but who cares. My Dad was stationed at FE Warren in the early 60's. Doc Klepper in the USA

People that work in an Administration actually are not paid a lot of money (compared to what they would make in the private sector) and they work their tails off.

I'm curious too, not because I think his gear is too expensive of anything like that. I just wonder what you get paid for being the official white house photog. he's a canon user, maybe he'll drop in on the forum and let us know ![]() This would be a bang up idea, having the White House photographer sharing his thoughts on POTN. Maybe one of the mods or members who live in the DC area could extend an invitation to Mr. Souza to become a member here. Jon, are you out there? John
