I am interested in trying out the 85mm 1.8 or 100 f2 for Saturday or Sunday and thought instead of renting it I could swap with someone for the weekend?

I am in the SF bay area and wouldnt mind swapping with anything in my sig.

If this is in the wrong section i apologize.

Let me know if this is common/uncommon?

Thanks,
Mike

sound like an uncommon thing. :)

When you are in the bay area, swing by Borrowlens.com to rent it. Not much though.

I dunno about in the US, but in Australia you can always seem to find someone to borrow a lens off. Some of the more exotic teles people might be a bit iffy about, but something like an 85L or 17-55 seems to be okay.
So it's not impossible. Good luck.

Anyone know anything anywhere anymore?

I'm down for letting you borrow my 85/1.8 if you leave some sort of collateral. I live in Montclair and don't think I have much going on this weekend. HOWEVER, you should just buy it since it's a nice lens. :D

PM me if you'd like to meet-up.

Have you considered attending (or organizing) a Bay Area POTN meetup of any kind?

When we have get togethers down here in AZ, we often loan each other glass.

Mike Soo (member here) has a local Bay Area photo forum at http://www.soocool.com/forum/ (external link) . Lots of us Bay Areaers (hmm, almost a word) on PoTN are members there as well. (I'm BenUdkow there...oh so clever combination of my first and last name.)
