My wife and I flew up to Brooklyn today. We found out about the plane crash in the Hudson River just before our flight from Atlanta.

I brought my camera with me and thought maybe I could get some shots of the plane in the river before it is extracted. I would appreciate any information as to where I would go to be able to capture some shots.

I am at Hope Street near Union Ave.

I don't know anything about how to get around NY. My wife and I have been to NY a few times; however, this is my first time in Brooklyn.

I hope you get a chance to get some shots of the extraction.

I for one am very curious how the hell they're going to get a water-logged Airbus out of the Hudson River.

Helluva job by the guys in the pointy part.

The South Street Seaport is on the East River, the Hudson River is on the other side of Manhattan. I believe the plane is on the west side of the island, not sure where exactly though, couldn't find any information on the location.

Ooops, my bad on the Seaport, you're correct.

According to the map I found on the local NY Fox affiliate's website, the plane ditched roughly at the Lincoln Tunnel but I think I saw a different graphic that showed the rescue took place farther down river due to drift.

Has been a lone time since I worked in the city. I think I would just get a cab and ask the driver.

I went to where the plane is today. It is impossible to get a good shot from the area the police will let you get to. You need to be on a boat. I was hoping to see the extraction. Maybe I'll make the trip back over there tomorrow.

It's at Battery Park or near there. My wife was able to navigate us right to the site, the "L" train all the way west then the "E" train all the way south. You end up right in front of the Ground Zero site. A short walk from there, and there you are. I don't have my computer up here so I may not post the photos I have until I get home, Tuesday.

Nice job by the pilots to get it down in one piece - and the flight attendants to get the doors open and everyone out in just over 2 minutes!....

That is where it went down, the river took it south. DCsmith is correct. It is alongisde or just north of Battery Park, a few blocks from the trade center. Good luck!
