The pain of waiting for my own packages isn't as bad as waiting for my customers' freight.

A quick Teleconverter question. With kids footy and soccer seasons coming up and since I was too late to post instant on a Sigma 10-20 on OCAU, I was wondering about consoling myself by going the other way and getting a teleconverter to use with the 400D and 70-200 f2.8/L.

Does anyone have any experience with the Kenko 2X as advertised on D-D Photo ? The Canon one looks nice, but as I'm still hoping to grab an 10 -20 sometime soon, I'm wondering if the extra money is justifiable.

I'm mainly going to be using it for kids sport and next season, for surf lifesaving type stuff.

what is a good condition 24-70 going for these days? I have a mate that wants to sell hers.

There was one on OCAU for $1300+ but given the price of new ones these days, that's a pretty damn cheap price. I'd probably more argue $1400+ easy if it's boxed blah blah... a smidge more if under warranty.

Colin.. did you see this post from Chuck Westfall regarding the sRAW topic you were talking about some time ago?

If I dial down the resolution of the camera from 15MP to 8 MP, does that mean that only every other pixel is "hot"? Does that mean that there is less light interaction between pixels, and that my picture is cleaner? Please provide some impressions.

Canon has not disclosed the exact methods it uses to reduce resolution for sRAW (small RAW) images and Medium or Small in-camera JPEGs, but each of these recording formats involves downsampling from the original full-resolution raw image data. In tests I've performed at various EOS 50D image quality settings, I have come to the conclusion that there is no significant change in noise at pixel level caused by downsampling alone. However, at any given print size, images captured by the EOS 50D will look their best (cleanest) when working from full-resolution files."
