Thanks Waz. Keep in touch. What are the poms offering?

I hear they are offering nothing but rain, snow, more rain and pints of beer.
Sounds like a fair trade.

Noice work Greg esp on the 2nd pic!

Thanks,

Great work on the MP-E shot, doing better than me to get them in flight with that lens. I cheat and use AI servo.:p

Haha, sneaky. What ever works for you though. The MP-E is a great lens once you get used to it, and get your lighting right. I'd really like try it on a FF camera to get that little bit extra room too.

I hear the snow is mostly gone. Replaced with fresh mornings and frost.
Good on ya man.

I use the same technique for Dragonflies in flight also.

A price rise on the Mark II? When? Why? Where?

Exhange rates.

The US price has nothing to do with it - the AU$-Yen relationship is what does.

You guys heard about the used-panty vending machines in Japan right? I should do one for my mankinis, due to all this obvious demand.

The only "obvious demand" is that we all forget it ever existed!

Hmmm, I've been watching that 16-35...

The dragonflies I've tried to chase down have been too quick for me. No matter how slowly, and quietly I approach them they'll always fly off before I can get within focus distance. That being said, I've never tried shooting them earlier in the day when they're less active. Yet.

I was asking because I routinely buy from the US...so if US prices are not going up, then it makes a difference to me.

I've never had much luck early, I have better luck at around lunch or in the arvo. The ones I've shot have tended to be those that perch on a branch or rock. Shooting them in flight can be very frustrating

I was just watching "How it's made" and they had a segment on how LEE Filters and Gels are made. It was very cool. The filters are coloured by hand dipping, no wonder they're so expensive.
