Will definitely be looking at these terms a little harder and hoping they're what I need. If It works out, plus being able to pay by the month. It should be pretty easy to sort out.Looks good Phil. Not sure how you get the sky colour though. What if I wanted it, light blue? As for background exposure, my point was you had to work out a rough shutter speed for a given aperture and ISO setting right? For say, f/16 and ISO 100.. that might be 25 seconds. You'd then only have roughly 25 seconds, or risk under/exposing the sky. Unless you meant "burning" in Photoshop. I mean burning, by leaving the shutter open for longer. Clarence

Car doesn't matter... it's not lit... so shutter can stay open as long as I want and it won't affect the car's exposure. Off to sleep now... g'nite ![]() Oh yes, I get that. But I meant you still had to have a rough idea for how long you had to paint. For example, if the sky in that shot was exposed at 25 seconds at f/16, ISO 100, then you're gonna have to paint at 25 seconds everytime you have another go (and I presume you have many 'runs' since each paint-job will look a little different). So say you finish painting in 10 seconds, you're still gonna have to stand around and wait until the 25 second mark (or risk an underexposed background). Or if you couldn't finish painting in 25 seconds, you'd have to stop anyway (or risk over-exposing the background). In other words, I get how you can leave the shutter open for as long as you want and it won't affect the car exposure, but with regards to the background exposure you still have to meter for a rough shutter speed and stick with that shutter speed whenever you paint.
