Tax.

That is all.

I like both. Nice work. Particularly the symmetry in colour between the Lambo and the sky.

Cheers for that. Will definitely be looking at these terms a little harder and hoping they're what I need. :) If It works out, plus being able to pay by the month. It should be pretty easy to sort out.

Looks good Phil. Who is that through, I've been looking for insurace too...

Ooh, the tax stampede has begun! Nice, nice.

Clarry, how do you nail the background/sky? Since you're painting the cars, I presume you're on a fairly long exposure. But you also have to consider the background, so you'll have to pick a precise exposure time such that the background is exposed just right. Do you first pick an aperture (say f/22 at ISO 100) and then see how long you'd need to get the background (maybe say, 40 seconds) and then limit yourself to that time for painting for the entire shoot? I presume that's how it works..

Also what about the background/sky colour? Do you apply a photo filter in post or do you always rely on ambient?

Sky colour is straight out of camera ;) hint: foreground and background.

Background exposure is just a matter of burning (shutter open longer) or not.

I'm lost.

Sky is similar colour to the car.. if that's what you were hinting. Not sure how you get the sky colour though. What if I wanted it, light blue?

As for background exposure, my point was you had to work out a rough shutter speed for a given aperture and ISO setting right? For say, f/16 and ISO 100.. that might be 25 seconds. You'd then only have roughly 25 seconds, or risk under/exposing the sky. Unless you meant "burning" in Photoshop.

I mean burning, by leaving the shutter open for longer.

Car doesn't matter... it's not lit... so shutter can stay open as long as I want and it won't affect the car's exposure.

Off to sleep now... g'nite :p

Oh yes, I get that. But I meant you still had to have a rough idea for how long you had to paint. For example, if the sky in that shot was exposed at 25 seconds at f/16, ISO 100, then you're gonna have to paint at 25 seconds everytime you have another go (and I presume you have many 'runs' since each paint-job will look a little different). So say you finish painting in 10 seconds, you're still gonna have to stand around and wait until the 25 second mark (or risk an underexposed background). Or if you couldn't finish painting in 25 seconds, you'd have to stop anyway (or risk over-exposing the background). In other words, I get how you can leave the shutter open for as long as you want and it won't affect the car exposure, but with regards to the background exposure you still have to meter for a rough shutter speed and stick with that shutter speed whenever you paint.

Night, you big boogerface.
