Ugh.. Matt, that sucks. The glass panels on non-1D series cameras are user-replaceable. I've seen other forumites here discuss this before, where they just order a replacement panel from Canon, 'suction out' the existing one and push the new one in with some adhesive on the side. Not sure if you can do this with the 1D series but I imagine doing it yourself or sending it in - both ain't gonna cost too much.

Yeah, it sucks, nevermind. I think I'd prefer Canon to do it Collin, for the whole weather sealing issue.

Awww crap fest Matt!

Does the LCD display still function?

Yeah it works fine Al... I am lucky that none of the glass pierced the LCD or anything.

Ouch Matt.

Nevermind Ed. I remember the exact moment of impact, but didn't even look at the camera as contact has happened before with no incident. It wasn't until a break in proceedings about 45 mins later that I noticed it. I think I may have sworn out loud, so I hope no-one at the wedding heard. :o

SO good to live in a state where DST isn't an issue.
:-)

Indeed, we don't go in for any of that silly DST stuff up here :-P

Funnily enough Dave, when I saw it, I said a similar four letter word that ends in k too... Quite loudly as I remember. ;)

Matt - I'd be so sad if that happened :( I know it's not really a biggie but lately with my destructo mutt I'm very sensitive to even cosmetic damage...sometimes it feels like I can't own anything nice! LOL

Thanks Kristin, I was more annoyed than sad I guess. Not annoyed at the build quality, or myself, or any other factor really... Just annoyed that it happened, and now having to send it off for repair.

I know what you mean about destructo mutts... We have four (staffy, lab, and 2 jack's), and there is nothing you can leave around that you don't want completely destroyed within a short period of time.

Ok, downside of a 21Mpx sensor - stitched panoramas are really pushing the box... 13 shots stitched in CS4 came out to over 2Gb and PS wouldn't save it (won't save psd's over 2Gb - who knew?).

Cropping now, but it's taking ages. Might need to buy another 4Gb of RAM for the machine...

Yeah, but they're not sealed from the start.

Stitching can be a pain like that. Who says you don't need a powerful PC to accompany photography ^^.

I really love my cooking. :p I also love my eating, which is why I never get any shots.

I actually never think to try, until I see food shots on here.

Nice shots, but the colours look a little flat to me.
