Quick bag question.

My Technics bag I use to carry my lappy, and also my camera gear in is getting pretty tatty and has some holes. I'm tossing up between the Crumpler 7MDH or the ThinkTank urban disguise 50. They can both hold a couple of lenses, and a body for a walk around, and a laptop to boot.

Any thoughts on them would be great. Ie. comfort, ease of use etc... ?

the 50 wouldnt hold my 15 inch MBP or a gripped body.....

Oh daym. Looks like UD60 is the way to go just to accomodate the mbp then.

How is the product though? Usability etc.

Yep, I really like this one. Charvel Surfcaster, don't see many of them around.

Thanks. he knows how to use it pretty well, too.

Nice shots, but the colours look a little flat to me.

Thanks. Yeah, the JPEG conversion seems to have done something to them there..the original RAWs looks fine...I will have a play when I get a bit more time.

Rofl.

God, I've got 2 friends with macbooks, and they hadn't figured out they can use the two finger trackpad tap to right-click.
/facepalm

You can ? Well, I'll be...so you can..even on the old G4 Powerbook. :):)

There you go, you learn something every day.

What did I tell you about the PC ;)

Well it's only the ram, cpu was fine. I was thinking 4Gb wasn't really enough anyway as I'd run into troubles before - your just run into troubles a lot quicker with the larger raw files ;-)a

fungry wrote in post #7378041 (external link)
Stitching can be a pain like that. Who says you don't need a powerful PC to accompany photography ^^.

At least one that can address a lot of ram anyway.

WOOO EPIC MULTI QUOTE... DONE THE OLD FASHIONED COPY AND PASTE WAY.... ON A MAC (NO RIGHT CLICK OR CTRL + V or CTRL + C)

Command (apple) + C (or V) for copy and paste :P

Ctrl and click for right click if you haven't turned on right click for the mighty mouse (trackpad is still Ctrl click).

ANGUS wrote in post #7378388 (external link)
Ahhh i got it, its Command, ****ing weird!!

Yes, as it has been since 1984 :P

That's what I was getting at. With larger RAW files, your system would be taxed in only two areas: processor or primary storage (RAM). One can argue the case for secondary storage (HDD space) too, but that's a fairly easy fix. I remembered that huge pano you posted the other day, and immediately felt you'd have a much harder time doing the same thing with RAW files much larger. A slower processor will do things slower, but an insufficient amount of memory might stop the project in its tracks completely. Not sure if you're using 2x2GB sticks, but a 4x1GB configuration would be annoying as you'd have to buy all-new RAM.

Last time I tried an 8GB configuration, I also had stability issues with my mobo. Intel said my particular mobo's northbridge might have been the blame. Thankfully they've finally followed AMD's footsteps in moving the memory controller in-die with Nahalem, so I suppose I won't run into that particular problem again when I do my upcoming rebuild.

2 x 2G at the moment, have room for another 2 dimms, so I'll whack in another pair soon. Should be ok, and since I'm running a 64bit OS, I shan't have any issues addressing it.

Ignore the false modesty people, Grigori is obviously running some sort of high-powered mainframe computer. A Fields Medalist cannot be on anything less.

I hope life has been good for you back at the Steklov Institute these few years, Professor.
