Ah cool, yeah I've currently got the JMicron interface enabled, but only because I was mucking around with a spare IDE drive and Windows 7 beta. That's gone now, so I should turn it off.

I'll see if there's a newer Taruga patch for my sound (Asus PK5-E board).

Dunno if you will have problems, best to see what happens, remove RAM if no boot then troubleshoot....

I'm taking notes. I reckon a new system build is going to be my next purchase.

I still have no idea what brand or models to buy though. Sweet FA.

What, no more 70-200!?

Ohhh, wonder what that would look like on a 5d2!

Only goes to 12mm though. At this you get some slight vignetting that is gone by 13mm. From all report the mirror hits the rear element at less than 11mm - I'm not going there.....:D

You can borrow a 10-22 that now fits on FF and 1.3s:p

And probably goes less than that on FF.

Nah, I'll persevere, can't be too long before I find what I'm after.

On a different topic, anyone used/have an Opteka Timer Remote ? Just wondering if it's worth going that route over the hellishly expensive Canon TC80-N3.

O_O 277 bucks on DDP. That is scary and yet it is still wired.

I think the rear projection distance limit would be the same but the vignetting would start earlier.

Yeah, not keen on that price at all - 'twas bad enough when they were $180, but the price jump is just rude.

The Opteka ones are $74.95 US from Amazon.

This is a joke. Reading strobist.com just makes me want to ditch a UWA and get radio triggers.

I felt this way before I read strobist. Mainly because I started finding shooting people more rewarding than shooting urban and natural landscapes (what I usually shoot).

Then I read strobist, and that made me even MORE interested in shooting people. Can't wait till I get my Lumiquest Softboxes (whenever that's gonna be )

UWA is still fun though - definitely my second most used lens behind the 17-55.

Even then! They have great range, the PWs!

Might not be top priority though, no :-)

I would pick up either a 17-55, 17-40, 17-35, 17-50 and some poverty wizards if it was me....
in other news I love my 24-70 SO much now, it is so versatile with the the 70-200 on the 1d3, I just need to stop shooting so tight (started with sports, so whenever there is people I tend shoot too tight )
